A friend of the band directs the show. There's a story that Diplo used to follow a metal band on tour so they wanted to kinda use that for a story in the show. They wanted him to get booed by metal heads but didn't have enough money to pay for extras. They went to an ETID show and had someone come out to act like they're introducing ETID but instead they they brought out James van der Beek as Diplo. He then played really slow edm so the crowd would boo him.
After doing two of this site's NCAA style tourney brackets which are currently happening for a few other bands (Linkin Park, Relient K, TWY), I thought of a few bands that I think it'd work great for. Pretty sure this thread is no. 1 on consistent album rankings and also is the thread of one of the best heavy bands to ever live. So if enough people are interested, i'm open to running one here once the others are done.
I'm only familiar enough with the last couple albums to do it, but I'm in for those. Hell, maybe I'll use this as an excuse to give the other ones more listens too.
Definitely check out their other albums if you get a chance! They're all pretty short though and. 30-40 minutes.
I've listened through all of them but not too many times. To be totally honest, I haven't come back to them much just because the last two or three albums sound like better versions of what came before.
For me, I recently revisited The Big Dirty and have a new found appreciation for many tracks I didn't used to visit much.
Yeah like Every Time I Die is one of my favorite bands but I don't find myself listening regularly to anything pre-2012 apart from a select few songs just because the newer stuff is so much better.
Reallllly? I find that I revisit early stuff and later stuff most, with the middle being much more selective and picky for me.
Yep, one of those bands whose latest album tends to replace the others for me. Silverstein is another example, though that didn't happen this year because I didn't think their new album was very good.
I have a lot of trouble getting into anything they've released over the past few years. Loved them as a teenager, and there has been great progression instrumentally. I kind of feel like Shane's vocals are very dated. Wish he would try a different take cause so much of his stuff sounds the same.
Yeah, there's only so much I can take of the same melodies over and over and the extremely predictable switches between screams and clean vocals
