The list of people/bands/shows you can associate ETID to is absurd. I even forget they performed on Kimmel.
Kimmel used to have TBS on every time they released an album too. Dude has some solid acts on his show.
i was lucky i got to see keith perform a few songs with TBS a few years back, i believe it was when adam had to leave warped tour for his baby being born
Had a dream last night that I was supposed to sing/scream a song for ETID at some show in like an old park building here in Chicago. It was some 30-second song (that doesn't exist) that was just a nasty riff followed by Keith screaming some lyrics, first over the last chord of the riff and then a cappella. But before the set started I realized that I didn't know how to scream, didn't know the lyrics, and apparently had never actually heard the song before. So I went to the bathroom to listen to it and then the dream veered into a totally different direction. Weird dream, but it got me listening to ETID all day today, so there's that!
I can honestly (sadly?) say this was my first. But thanks to "ETIDreams" I'm now imagining a Keith Buckley-fronted dream pop project called "Every Time I Dream".
I had a weird ETID dream as well months ago I posted in The Dream thread: "....I dreamed I was front row at Warped Tour for Every Time I Die and it was kind of outside my house in the side yard. They only got to play 2 songs because strange technical difficulties. I yelled "play the song that goes "metallica without the drugs!!!". After their set we were in their bus and I apologized to Keith for all the technical difficulties and I told them about Chorus.fm."
There aren't a lot of bands that are going to put Deadguy and Panic! at the Disco features on the same album, hah
yeah this too i mean theyve had a lot of features that arent at all a part of their genre or scene and thats pretty unique.
you know what a cool tour would be? AFI and ETID, theyd put on fun shows together. Also bonus points for having Davey do Brendan Uries parts on "It Remembers" because that song reminds me a lot of STS for some reason.
I love Alexisonfire. Would consider myself a super fan if you could call it that. However, having never seen them and watching videos of their reunions, they just don't have the UMPH anymore. Idk what it is, but I'd rather remember them the way I do than be disappointed. ETID is defying the laws of physics and is playing just as good if not better than when they were younger.
Just realized I'm very confused. Been into this band since '06, seen them twice. But they're such an anomaly I feel like in the hardcore scene. Like brutal and comedic? I've been going through a genre crisis w/ a lot of bands(Norma Jean, Underoath)but will someone just neatly tie up ETID for me?
Well yeah. I know I sound mentally slow for even asking, but I'm on a major lyrics kick so just REALLY getting into them now along w/ a slew of other bands. IMO though their albums are not close to the in-your-face heaviness(and IMO you have to have absolutely tidal wave lyrics to be "heavy"). So in that vein Underoath, Converge, Alexisonfire are much heavier. Huge fan of the godly New Junk Aesthetic, dont really dislike any of their albums, basically it comes down to what that marketing was. I'd kill to have a sit down w/ them. BTW fell asleep while writing this so this comment is from yesterday.
Haha good pointIDK if it's Keith's vocals, the southern influence, or the riffs but they seem to take themselves less seriously than a lot of similar bands. That wasn't a diss, rather a compliment, the straight-faced, dour presentation of bands like Underoath CAN grow exhausting.
