What's unrealistic about that? I did it. Ex Lives was my first, The Big Dirty is probably my favorite.
Either start from the beginning and work your way forward, or start from their most recent and work your way backward. I would vote for the latter. I think Low Teens is a great combination of a lot of the different styles they explore. Plus the lyrical content and overall "story" of the record makes it fairly accessible.
They're a rare band that has just always gotten better in my opinion. I can't really listen to the first two albums
Reposting from a couple days ago (in the Chicago thread) but I complemented someone with an ETID shirt at a bar in Chicago last Friday and I have an odd suspicion that it's one of you fine Chorus people.
I think it's unrealistic from my standpoint to think my recommendation to go through an extensive catalog in order will be heeded. There's just too much music and other distractions out there. Plus, why should teebs' friend listen to me? I think it's just lazy of me to do it that way. I'd rather give one or two records to check out. Hell, most people outside of this community don't really go through full albums so eight seems a little unrealistic.
Oh, isn't Burial Plot considered an EP? Edit: Nevermind you basically said that in your post haha, fair enough
I approve, didn't think Floater would outright win though. Thought it might go out in like top 4. Although I am also kind of surprised No Son got that far.
Almost 7 months later and I'm still riding the Low Teens wave so I gotta say Petal or Awful Lot should have won. For real though I'm surprised Floater prevailed over Ebolarama but it makes complete sense that they're the final two.
I voted for Map Change. And would've in the final haha. Awful Lot is probably my favorite song from all of last year though.
I filled out my ETID song bracket last month and had a pretty different outcome. I like Floater, but I don't think it's their best song. I have to concede it's their most popular, but I think the band has much better songs, personally.
Floater is such a jam. I think anyone who didn't follow the band from that time may have trouble understanding the kind of impact Hot Damn! Had.
Is there a template that's easily filled out? I'm assuming that Idiot will win out no matter how it all falls for me.
Talked about this a page ago, but I got into this band with LNIT. I completely get and understand Floater. I just don't think it's their best song, but the fans have basically made it their "hit" song. I'm just glad they don't close with it every show. Thatnwould get old quick.
