Yeah, I remember seeing a video of them performing of 'I Won't Give In' and it was pretty insulting. Despise bands who do that.
I'm seeing them tonight, but I broke my wrist playing basketball on Monday so probably won't be able to partake in the madness. Maybe...
I really enjoyed that record they did so I would be down for more music. I wonder if both Rob and Scott will be involved since Rob is no longer in Anthrax.
Ironiclast is rad. If youre a fan of Keiths singing vocals then that record will be right up your alley.
I loved the Damned Things record. I remember people saying it sounded like Nickelback back on AP haha.
That's a bad comparison. So is every hard rock/metal band with clean vocals trying to sound like Nickleback haha. I just sort of assumed the record didn't as well as they wanted so they all just went back to their main projects, hiatus or not.
Was never crazy about TDT but I will check it out solely because of the members. Hurley drumming in anything not FOB is okay with me.
I think my favorite thing about it is Trohman and Hurley getting to fully utilize their talent honestly
I know one of Joe's conditions to coming back to FOB was that he was a part of the main songwriting team with Patrick and Pete. I know he at least had a pretty big role on SRAR. So I would say he is probably good with everything in FOB.
I don't know why it's not mentioned anywhere on Wiki, but some of my favorite drumming from Andy is Burning Empires' "Heirs Of The Soil." If you haven't heard that album, find it.
Oh I don't suggest he has a problem with FOB. I just like that TDT enables him to let loose a bit more. And not be buried under as much programming and whatnot that they have on the newer FOB records.
Well, I got the impression from the SRAR interviews and what Joe's brother told me that a lot of that programming or sound was his doing. Not all of it of course and the "big" feel of it came later on, but the music to a lot of that album (and I assume AB/AS) was Joe. That said, I feel like TDT were just an excuse to play some '80s inspired guitar riffs with some friends. I'm surprised Keith and Scott have time right now to do new TDT music.
FOB just has a different goal than TDT. I just like what they're doing far more in TDT. Obviously Andy is ok playing the simplest pop drumbeats, but it's nice to hear him show off a bit in this
Completely with you on TDT compared to new FOB. I'm the classic hipster/stuck in the past FOB fan that the FOB fans on this site loathe. Grave is my favorite record followed by FUTCT and Infinity on High haha. I do like SRAR more than the last record. I listen to a lot of '80s thrash, so TDT are more up my wheel house for sure. Hearing riffs that have that influence (even if slowed down in time) is really fun for me.
I'd like to say start at Hot Damn! and work your way up, but it's not realistic to expect someone to listen to that whole trajectory upwards to Low Teens. That's so many records. Also, depending on how old your friend is they might be turned off by that dated recording. I guess for those reasons I would say Low Teens or New Junk Aesthetic. LT is where the band is at now and NJA is what I think is one of their more diverse records that sounds current still.
NJA was my introduction I think it's a great start but I think Hot Damn is great and Low Teens and Froim Parts Unknown are the best
