Went right into a second listen. Grabbed me fasted than FPU and I thought FPU was an outstanding record. Hard to see this being outside of my top 5 this year. I need to give it more time before my full thoughts form though.
This tour is coming to my area and is part of "Souled Out" fest in which they'll be playing with Life In Your Way and Knocked Loose, two bands i'm very eager to see. Gonna be a good one.
Also, I have no idea how to rank just songs which I saw was done earlier in the thread, but ranking albums I think now with Low Teens goes like this for me: Hot Damn! From Parts Unknown Gutter Phenomenon Low Teens The Big Dirty New Junk Aesthetic Ex Lives Last Night In Town Edit: And this doesn't knock a single album for me, all their work is great. Just thinking in regards to what I return to the most, lyrical content, and instrumentation.
Jordan mentioned it during the Low Teens live tweet but I really hope they keep this lineup for a while.
That would be great. Daniel is an amazing drummer/writer. My rankings: From Parts Unknown The Big Dirty Hot Damn! New Junk Aesthetic Last Night in Town Ex Lives Gutter Phenomenon Low Teens
It's actually a pretty fun record, just at the bottom for me cause it's my least visited and the production is sub par. (Obviously they weren't big and it was them getting their feet wet.) Logic Of Crocodiles is something else live.
The only thing "wrong" with Last Night in Town is the production. Those songs are killer. It would be higher on my list if the production was TBD/FPU quality.
love last night in town. i could see that being said for the burial plot bidding war however. didnt jordan and keith do an interview a while back where they rated all their albums? i remember them still liking last night in town.
I would love for them to update that video with the three albums they've released since. Also, I was surprised by how openly they talked shit about Ratboy after he left.
Posted this in the video game thread as well, but Keith is the actual DJ on the Epitaph radio station in Forza Horizon 3. I thought it was just "It Remembers" being featured. This is a nice surprise.
UPDATE: Our 12th Annual XMAS show has just been announced! Thursday, December 22nd atWaiting Room. Naughty AND nice patrons admitted. Tickets available here: https://www.ticketfly.com/purchase/mobile/index/1341523?utm_medium=bks
This band has been on my radar for years but for some reason I never really checked them out. That said, I love Low Teens and I've been listening to it on repeat since it came out. But going back through their discography seems a little daunting. Are the newer albums closer in sound to Low Teens? I have practically no knowledge on the progression of the bands sound so I guess I'm just looking for a direction to start digging deeper. Thanks!
Most people will tell you to start with Hot Damn! but I personally think New Junk Aestheic is a good entry album because of its accessibility. You honestly cannot go wrong though. Their last album (From Parts Unknown) is arguably their 'heaviest' if that's something that interests you.
if you are digging LT, i would personally recommend working backwards from there (or at the very least going to From Parts Unknown next). Ex Lives was not received as well by a lot of fans it seems, but i think it's awesome. New Junk Aesthetic is also a good album to check out. Hot Damn! is a fan favorite. you really can't go wrong though.
Awesome, thanks guys! I'll think I'll check out New Junk Aesthetic and then From Parts Unknown. Excited to dig a little deeper.
