when everybody gets a universe, they do what they want im gonna need another universe, i tore mine apart
I wasn't huge on the first half of that song, but it turns it on and rips the rest of the way, much like Revival Mode.
I love it, and love all 3 of the songs released so far. It's going to be hard not to overplay them before the album is out, though I've been doing alright with the first 2 (after an initial binge on "The Coin Has a Say").
Im the opposite. I love Keiths voice but I generally like it when the vocals are a bit harder to pick out. Ive liked these 3 songs, but none of them have come anywhere close to FPU for me. Im thinking I will like this one around as much as Ex Lives
As seen on my FB feed: "Come join us for Storytime this week at the Zoo with one of my favorites Keith Buckley. It happens at 11am on Sunday here at the Zoo. Keith will be reading cute animal books to the kids, we will have some animal guests and ice cream. "
Not really a surprise since ETID brought that stuff into the scene and ultimately influenced everyone into doing it.
Holy crap, Im gone one day, and they drop a song, listening as soon as I finish up this assignment at work!
Wow. that song was fantastic. I noticed some of yall saying it was like Revival Mode. I gotta disagree. The song has some serious Ex Lives feel, but more in line with Drag King, and more so Business Casualty, in my opinion. Those are my 2 favorite songs from that album so no complaints here! Gotta listen to this a few more times before shelving it in anticipation of the full release.
I think I got most of these right, just cant figure out the second part of the 2nd verse Girl, what are you scared of? All will be lost anyway I see no good reason to pray I will meet you There’s a light where you go x2 Don’t let in mistakes that haunt you There will be no ??? I hope it’s like you would not believe I won’t blame you There’s a light where she goes All is right where she goes Stay if you think we could pull through A curse is as strong as there is The calm collects what is his I gotta plead with your machines I'm at the feet of your machines Tell me anything at all If it’s a false alarm, then forget what I said If the snake won’t bite, then I take it all back If there’s wine in that bottle, then bring me a glass I'll eat crow, it don't seem so bad I gotta plead with the machines I'm at the feet of your machines Tell me anything at all The sun is out Out cold When everybody gets a universe they do what they want I’m gonna need another universe I tore mine apart Yeah, when everybody gets a universe, they could do what they want I tore mine apart x2 Tried to speak to machines Tried to plead with machines Pull me from the wreck I hear ‘em, they’re praying
"I gotta plead with your machines I'm at the feet of your machines Tell me anything at all" This portion is absolutely heartbreaking when you know the story behind it. Gave me goosebumps and almost brought me to tears. This song is already making a case to be one of my all time favorite by ETID.
The only reason I, and others I'm sure, compared it to RM is because it's clean and more alt rockish in the beginning and then super heavy at the end, plus it's got great melodies like RM I think this is my favorite of the 3 so far. Crazy that we've still got 12 more tracks to hear
Keith's wife was in the hospital, complications from giving birth. “I could do nothing for her. I couldn’t tell her it was going to be OK. I couldn’t even tell her that death wouldn’t be better because I had no idea yet if our daughter had even made it. I kept asking doctors what the machines meant, and eventually I could tell they were sick of me asking so many questions. I realized that if I could only understand what their beeps meant I might have some hope. I might have some answers.” Additionally the first first line of the song hits hard too. “None of the doctors knew what happened. All they could do was monitor her vitals. She couldn’t talk because of the tubes so she just wrote words with her fingers on my arm. ‘Scary’ was what she wrote first.”
