Yeah, I feel like Will Putney, Arthur Rizk, and Taylor Young more recently all have a good feel for current heavy music. Kurt Ballou certainly does too, but the three aforementioned all are consistently working in that 80s and 90s big metal sound. You can tell they all grew up with Metallica and Slayer and it’s fun hear them work that into the modern bands currently going.
I think Norma Jean are great and even their album from last year is quite incredible and there's not an album from them I dislike That being said it's so fun to dunk on Cory/them lol
ETID have the stronger overall body of work but tbh if you asked me what the best album out of their combined output is.... I'm probably going with Wrongdoers
Norma Jean is good and continues to put out some of the best music in the scene. Cory is a moronic dweebass. ETID is also good and I can’t wait for new tunes.
whoa just listened to the first minute of "if you've got it at five, you've got it at fifty" holy shit, i fuck w/ this.
They should have been the last band I saw before shows stopped but I didn't go. Don't regret it really bc I live with an immunocompromised person but would have been cool to go out on that one
Norma Jean's newest album is their best one, and is an absolute ripper. It and Low Teens are two of my favorite "recent" heavy releases.
I love Norma Jean (All Hail is incredible) and just choose to ignore Corey’s tweets.. Anyways, I can’t wait for this record to drop! Really excited to hear Clayton’s drumming.
