On his Twitch stream Friday, Keith said they have a “street date” for the album and are sticking with it for now. (He did not reveal the date.) He also said they have over 50 minutes of music with the full 16 songs. He said there are no keys in the new songs. Their merch guy suggested they release variants of a 13-song album with different bonus tracks on each variant (a la “Take Off Your Pants and Jacket”). Keith liked that idea and said he wanted to do something to make the release more collectible.
Not necessarily ETID related but Underoath has been doing twitch streams where they listen to every album song by song and give commentary and Jordan is going to be on the next episode for LITSOS this Wednesday (5/20) for a bit.
Not to say that Underoath was a bad band, but that sort of reminds me that there was once a time where ETID was routinely the best band on whatever tour package they were on, and by a country mile too. They've definitely made much better choices in terms of tour packages in recent years.
Misery Signals opening for Zao opening for Every Time I Die opening for Dillinger Escape Plan is a show that I still haven’t recovered from.
Oh damn, I did not know that. 2008 was still in the period of me being out of the loop of a lot of things sadly
I remember when they were an opener for Beartooth and just kinda thinking..um something is topsy turvy here. I also like to think that ETID is made up of dudes who don't take life seriously sometimes and just go with the flow, fully prepared to play the best possible show they can every time despite the context
man low teens is their masterpiece. can't believe were almost to 4 years since the last LP. i dont know if i ever really paid attention to the amount of straight up self loathing keith sings about on it. map change and the coin has a say are particularly brutal and resonant today.
ETID has had a long successful career because they choose a wide variety of bands to tour with and reach different audiences.
Their pride never stands in their way and they’ll open for bands that they probably shouldn’t be opening for.
I will not be sleeping on this, if that’s the decision they make. I managed to grab a copy of hot damn on vinyl this morning off eBay for a reasonable price. Been on the wantlist for a long time, haha.
Just realized this is probably gonna end up being around the schedule that Low Teens was released, that released in late September. First official announcement of that was late June, so I think mid-late June is fair to think for an announcement/single. Unless they REALLY wanna surprise us.
Had a dream they released a single tomorrow and it was called "Riot Sock" Edit: I worded that weird, I guess in my dream it was Friday morning or somehow I knew it was Friday haha
