Sometimes I think about how important of a song “Romeo A Go-Go” was for this band. ‘Last Night in Town’ is a good, fun album but ‘Hot Damn!’ was a statement from them and it fucking explodes right out of the gates.

I’ll never forget hearing that album/song for the first time.

Listening to Last Night in Town and Hot Damn! back to back for the first time in a long time. Hot Damn! really is just a huge step up. Last Night isn't all that memorable to me. It's solid hardcore, but it feels aimless. Romeo a-go-go just lets you know right away that, yep, these guys figured it out.

 

Hot Damn is one of my favorite albums of all time. A true game changer for my personal musical tastes.
