The New Black, Revival Mode, We'rewolf, Organ Grinder, Moor, and Ebolarama would be my picks to introduce someone. covers a lot of the styles theyve tried
I'll give these a try and hopefully succeed. Also, I'm listening to Ex Lives for the first time in a while, and damn if it's not a fantastic record. The first 6 tracks are so strong.
Wanderlust, without a doubt. Ebolarama for the chaser. Make sure you show her the video too, it's disarmingly silly. In other news, I am a bit late to the party, but I watched a bootleg recording of Glitches for the first time today and now I am even more hyped for the album.
Another great interview with Andy: The way he talks about the record just gets me so hyped. Also his answer about who he'd want to sing on the record Thom Yorke
Roman Holiday is such a great song. A good change of pace from their normally fast openers. Love the Rosemary's Baby references as well.
I just listened to the episode of the Going Off Track podcast with Keith Buckley (and Benny Horowitz too). Wow, dude really has been through a lot this past year. Really interesting to hear him talk about it all.
It's crazy that he said that he basically wrote all of the lyrics overnight while he was at the hospital. I'm curious to see how that immediacy influences his lyrics on this album.
Jimmy Tango's Method is such a good song. I would love if they re-recorded that whole album with their current level of production.
I still like Gutter Phenomenon great, but it's probably my least favorite of all their albums now. The production just doesn't hold up. It's too tinny and the heaviness just doesn't hit like their other albums.
I've never let production kill a great record for me. especially heavy music. gutter is one of their most consistent albums with imo some of their best music. For people to disregard it for how it 'sounds' mix wise is nuts
This might sound weird but I don't listen to the first three records that much anymore. I still enjoy them but I love the last three so much and I usually go them before anything else. Not just in terms of ETID, but music in general. Ex Lives might be my most played record over the past year. Caught them at Warped the other day and they did not disappoint at all. They really know how to make the most out of a short set.
I fell in love with Hot Damn! all over again recently. That's just a solid record front to back. You can pretty much say that about all of their albums, but HD! is just a quick, concise banger of a record.
Listened to Gutter today since I've only heard about half their discography and am looking to rectify that. It was....fine, I guess, but it didn't grab me enough to listen to it more when I already have FPU and NJA. this is probably heresy but I feel like with this band you don't need more than two or three albums. Totally just my personal feelings on the subject.
Yeah I think it's dumb that there are two different threads for the band and the album. I feel the same way about every single thread on here like that.
