I dont know if this is really one party outright lying - seems more likely to be a crossing of wires. Both parties sound convincing and reasonable as far as I'm concerned. There's probably bad communication from both sides and i don't think it really benefits anyone to feel the need to come down hard on one side.
I just like the band and don't know that much about things on a personal level, other than that chorus interview with Keith for example. But a lot of this feels like temporary bullshit that may pass in the medium or long term. I'm actually pretty hopeful they will ride again.
I wish I felt hopeful about that part, obviously we've seen plenty instances where it's silly to completely say NEVER to bands coming back together, but this really does feel like a burnt bridge to me
I will say, it feels disingenuous to say "I won't comment further" when you're doing a Q&A tour in a few weeks that the promoter is specifically hyping as a "truth comes out" event
Ha, look I only came on board with this band a couple of months ago so I really have no clue about their history or Keith's character, I'm just saying what I see.
Interesting that he mentioned the political stance he took on Radical became something that he and Jordan couldn't work through
that is in line with pretty much everything that’s come out since december people seem to be acting like this is a take sides thing when it seems pretty clear both of these brothers are, at best, completely weird people
Seriously though, the main thing that gives me hope this can be reconciled is both parties are saying ETID isn't ETID unless it's all of them. Neither party want to carry on the name without the other.
Since we're reminiscing, I first heard ETID with the Kill the Music video. I liked MCR so I loved that song. Downloaded and burned Gutter Phenomenon to a CD and liked it okay. I liked songs here and there in their discog from there on out but never loved any full album. Wanderlust was and is still a mainstay on my running playlist. Only time I saw them live was in 2010 with Norma Jean and Cancer Bats at a crappy venue in Birmingham. I asked Andy to take a picture with me after the show and he was awesome, I did the same to Keith and he was very annoyed (granted that's an annoying thing to do to band members, but forgive 19 year old me, please). I stayed a casually fan until Low Teens which I absolutely loved and still listen to a lot, and that trend continued with Radical. So while I've been a casual fan for a long time, I didn't get fully on board until these two most recent albums. I'm very grateful they didn't break up in 2014 obviously. I think I'll spend some time this week listening through those older albums again.
None of the stuff about Keith and Jordan is surprising - only surprise is that it took this long to come out
I remember being at a show by myself one time and they started Underwater. I saw my friends I didn't know were there across the venue. Jumped on a guys back yelling "I want to be dead with my friends". It was such a perfect, memorable moment. Gonna miss that shit.
Just saw on twitter that Goose's girlfriend apparently opened a can on there. Apparently there's a reddit post about it as well, but it seems to detail a lot of Keith's recent behavior with the band and his girlfriend's part in it all
