I took this album for a run this morning in the pouring rain. It was goddamn magical

This is their best album maybe ever but certainly since New Junk. And that’s saying a lot because I love all of their work.

Well this absolutely lives up to the hype. I don't know how this band keeps topping themselves, but they did it again.

honestly kinda love how We Go Together is actually not the rehash of Map Change that I thought it might be but just this weird, dissonant, hulking beast instead

These songs sound almost nothing alike, but I got similar vibes to it as when I heard Golgotha and Pompeii by glassjaw. Strange apocalyptic tones, it's such a discomforting song. Though it has a sense of clarity that those songs don't.

We Go Together is Indian Giver's dodgy older brother and I love it

the opening of Dark Distance would make the best morning alarm. doubt my wife will agree, but only one way to find out.

Running to a store to buy it on CD like it’s 2006 again.

My one negative is the closer really doesn’t hold a candle to the last few closers. It’s pretty cool but maybe my least favorite track.

  15. I used underwater bimbos for one (1) morning and mine put a quick stop to that shit.

I stopped using songs I liked as morning alarms because after awhile it made me really hate whatever song it was. For awhile I had A Raindance in Traffic by The Wonder Years as my alarm and it ruined that song for me for a good year

I create content for some of your favorite artists

still have a hard time listening to The Only One by Manchester Orchestra for that exact reason

I completely forgot about the Andy Hull feature until I heard him on Thing With Feathers. What a wonderful surprise.

the best alarm song in my experience is "the wolf is loose" by mastodon, it is impossible to get tired of that drum intro

  21. This is very true. I hate holy ground by Taylor swift currently

  22. Now that you put this idea out there, I'm not going to know peace until this actually happens.

The dissonant chords in the breakdown on Distress Rehearsal make me smile.
