Just over half way through at the moment and it's a solid 7/10 so far. A few vocals here & there that i'm not keen on and don't really like the track with the dude from Manchester Orchestra on, but it's still really good. Undecided if it has the returnability that their first 3/4 albums have, but there is some stuff on here that would slip easily onto Hot Damn! or Gutter Phenomenon.
Also Keith has definitely been taking a few pointers from Cedric Bixler-Zavala when it comes to his cleaner vocals, huh?
I really like Things With Feathers but don't love Andy's vocals on it. Would rather it just be Keith, kinda hurts the song for me.
Wow I was not expecting so much Andy on his feature this is awesome, and quite jarring after Scogin goes absolutely mental on the previous track, haha.
Not sure if they know each other or not, but White Void makes me think a Schuyler Croom feature would rule.
My drive to work today fit perfectly with the length of the album, another listen down The order of having Thing With Feathers come after All This And War is fucking immaculate, getting to come down from the curb stomp of War into the gorgeous Feathers and breath
Ohhhhh People Verses, when he's singing the part about bending the knee you expect it to go into a breakdown, kind of heel turns into a super melodic part with clean singing, love that.
Closer was good, but kind of anticlimactic. My expectations were probably too high after Map Change. I can't think of another "metalcore" band that could make a 16 song 51 minute album and not only keep me from being bored, but really being engaged the whole time. This band is special.
Hostile Architecture is the one, blows my mind how Andy and Jordan keep coming up with ridiculous riff after riff. I adore this band
