If you told me that was a clip of some new/unrealeased ETID, I would believe it. I guess we'll see when the full song debuts.
Surprised how much it sounds like ETID musically and vocally. I was expecting more of a departure based on his other band, but this rips. Both bands definitely are still carrying the ETID dna big time. I am surprised how much this clip musically sounds like an etid song. Either way, I loved the first Better Lovers ep and I fully expect to enjoy this release too. These dudes are all such great musicians I am glad the turnaround on new and exciting projects has been relatively quick. The general vibe with Better Lovers based on interviews and podcasts with Jordan and Greg is they are just so deeply stoked about being in a healthy band environment and loving the energy at shows. They seem to be full steam ahead and not necessarily looking back. Curious if Keith will do a song with some scathing vocals about the whole situation or if he also will just move on and move forward. (I still think in 5 years or so they will have buried the hatchet and will play music again.)
I am elated for both but if I were to overanalyze that 9 second clip I would have to say the guitar work feels a bit more "generic". Andy and Jordan's riffs have this frenetic, unpredictable feeling to them in the way they make absolutely no sense. How the fuck does a person even come up with a song like 1977 from a guitar standpoint?
Here’s my hot take: As sad as the breakup was, we have more good ETID albums than of almost any other bands and they got to go out on an absurdly high note and we never had to suffer through them becoming a parody of themselves.
They definitely bowed out RIPPING. Low Teens is my personal favorite from them, but there is no denying Radical is one of (if not) the strongest final records from a band of this era.
Ahh, it’s hard not to be interested hearing that clip. Musically ETID are one of the GOATs, but there is something about Keith’s vocals that get me
Revelation is a really good track! I'm stoked we get two new bands out of all this, but hopefully this will confirm that everyone needs to see this as just that: two new bands. There will never be an ETID without both parts back together and people need to stop expecting that, but this definitely scratches the other part of that itch
