On my 5th listen and musically speaking - this is tight. However, the lyrics are pretty generic and too repetitive with the vocals being just alright. Hoping the rest of the album is much stronger.
This was solid, and shows promise which is exactly what I would hope from their first release. A lot of talent that I hope will get better after they gel more!
It’s a solid song with a couple great riffs. Fun to hear Greg crushing it on the mic again. Hard to deny that it sounds like an ETID b-side though. Immediate thoughts were that I could hear Keith all over the track, save a few almost 18V inspired moments. Just as Real…. Immediately came to mind.
Okay I like this merch but who is collecting here? Neither of the Buckley brothers have posted about it and the band’s social networks are gone.
All members still legally get proceeds from merch sales. I think Jordan and Keith's choice not to promote it is a personal one.
Awesome to read. Also was able to find a reply from Jordan on Twitter confirming the same after I posted. She’s My Rushmore is still one of the hardest songs they wrote ever.
i'm terrible with puncuation but that comma placement in his tweet just made my list of things to do today.
For the longest time I thought in She's My Rushmore the lyric was "The greatest love is a murderer's first" which honestly is still a pretty cool line lol
I didnt realize this and Poison the Well "You Come Before You" dropped the same day! Two huge albums for me back in the day!
Throwdown "Haymaker" is 20 today as well! Those Trustkill/Ferret Records releases from 20 years ago were all big albums for me. Please hold while I throw Hot Damn on my turntable. Been a ETID fan since Last Night in Town. Funniest thing was the first time I saw ETID was them alongside This Day Forward (members of Circa Survive) opening for Poison the Well They used to play in Toronto and southern Ontario so much back in the day, Keith used to say Toronto was like their second home.
Damn, today was the first time i listened to a full ETID album since everything went down (ended up mowing after a few drinks and TBD seemed appropriate). It still goes hard
