Daniel's drumming on Awful Lot reminds me a bunch of Muzzle by Smashing Pumpkins, in that you have these mid-tempo songs with fairly basic guitar parts that are juxtaposed by absolutely bonkers drumming lol. Reminds me of this video.

That's what I always loved about his drumming on that album and also on Disambiguation and Redeemer. The way he meticulously throws unorthodox fills and drum parts gives an unexpected feel to the songs. Keeps me on the edge.

I walk by Rec Room all the time when downtown for work, but have never been inside. Now I've got ETID and Geoff Rickley/Craig Owens in there two days apart. Going to be a good week.

 

It’s decorated cool but kinda sucks in terms of seeing the stage for a crowded show, it’s a bottleneck sort of room design. And you can’t see from upstairs. Buuuut if you squeeze your way up front you’ll be fine. Or be tall.
