Daniel's drumming on Awful Lot reminds me a bunch of Muzzle by Smashing Pumpkins, in that you have these mid-tempo songs with fairly basic guitar parts that are juxtaposed by absolutely bonkers drumming lol. Reminds me of this video.
Buffalo and WNY people: ETID show this Thursday at Rec Room. Tix onsale tomorrow at 10am. 350 cap room, don’t sleep
Whoever can make it have fun, I’m going straight from vacation to TGI on Saturday so there’s no way I can swing that one.
I’m so late on ETID. Got in at low teens. Becoming an absolute favorite as I work my way back thru the discography. every album has a vibe. Which most “heavy” bands don’t have to this degree.
That's what I always loved about his drumming on that album and also on Disambiguation and Redeemer. The way he meticulously throws unorthodox fills and drum parts gives an unexpected feel to the songs. Keeps me on the edge.
I will be driving out by myself from Rochester. I’ll be the tall lesbian with a snapback on and likely a beer in hand haha
I walk by Rec Room all the time when downtown for work, but have never been inside. Now I've got ETID and Geoff Rickley/Craig Owens in there two days apart. Going to be a good week.
It’s decorated cool but kinda sucks in terms of seeing the stage for a crowded show, it’s a bottleneck sort of room design. And you can’t see from upstairs. Buuuut if you squeeze your way up front you’ll be fine. Or be tall.
Me last week: 'Every Time I Die? Yeah they've got some good songs' Me this week: 'I DID A TERRIBLE THING AND SOMEONE SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IIIIIT'
If you stand on the elevated area where the vip booths are you'll be fine. Gives you some extra height and the ledges are often open to sit against the wall and see straight over everyone
I'm actually in the exact same spot as @Carrow here lmao always had a huge blind spot for this band despite them being totally my shit. up to The Big Dirty rn, I've been missing out
