I have never seen a band play an entire new album front to back. 4-5 songs from a new album is standard. The entire thing is a slap in the face
I mean I do agree with the whole album being played is a bit unnecessary. I dunno if I would say it's a slap in the face because that's starting to go into a bit of entitled fan territory but w/e
i really love "religion of speed." from parts unknown really impressed me but kinda passed me by at the same time. this is way more my speed
Also, if i had to rank their albums (lets pretend i do) and keeping in mind that this album is fresh and may move, I'd say the following: Gutter Phenomenon The Big Dirty Hot Damn Low Teens From Parts Unknown New Junk Aesthetic Ex Lives Last Night In Town
Every band is always proud of their new record, that doesn't mean they need to play it in full right after it comes out every night on a tour. Especially without advertising it like that
This band has continually blown my expectations out of the water consistently for over a decade now. Long live ETID.
I think I am ready to put this record in my top 3 favorite ETID releases. I just keep wanting to come back to it and it's not even a week old.
Idk about the other people on here but I would have loved to hear this record all the way through live before it's release. Think that would be so cool and memorable. (ex: Eaux Claires 2016)
Hey we should be friends, these are my two favorites as well. That riff in brightly lit is so crushing. I've always liked ETID, but on more of a, 3-4 songs on their albums is awesome, and the rest was meh. This album kills all the way through. I went back and listened to everything from gutter phenomenon on, and it's better than I remembered, but I honestly think this is their best writing so far, especially Keith's lyrics.
Listening to the entire discog on the shuff and I didn't realize how bad some of the middle albums were as far as production compared to the last 2 albums.
The only one with less than stellar production is Gutter Phenomenon imo. And while I personally don't prefer FPU's production I can't say it's bad.
none of their records has bad production and low teens is definitely not in the upper echelon of well produced etid records
I just prefer clearer Keith ala Low Teens to being somewhat buried on FPU. I don't dislike FPU at all for it, just prefer other ways.
