Goddamn Kids These Days is arguably the best song on that album, imo

Wow those might be my top 2 as well, although it's hard to say with how good the album is

"Lord have mercy on my soul, I've had a good run but can't run anymore" has always been a standout lyric for me

The instrumentation during that part is insane.

Oh I definitely will. I am also playing around with the idea of getiing "drink up" underneath it. gonna draw it up and see if I like it.

That hoodie is sick. Most of my ETID merch is from the HD and GP era lol, I need some new gear.

Any favorite lyrics from this yet? So far mines:

I'll be waiting with a suitcase when the devil comes for me: one if by land, two if by sea

Willing to surrender to persist. Empty stare and dumb shit eating grin. Teach me to breed, don't let me think, wipe out my past, break me in half.

The hightail it to hell line is another one I love

Keith's good at balancing drama and humor with his lyrics. He reminds me of Morrissey in that sense. Also, like many other lyricists, he has his persistent themes of hell and drinking and machines and animalistic intentions. I just love his lyrics so much

At 1:45 in Buffalo 666 he says "Stockholm syndromes just excessive GRIEF" but the way he growls/yells 'grief' sounds different and pained. I never noticed that before.

Yep true, especially rats he's kept that theme going since Hot Damn.

He also, much like Kurt Cobain, makes many references to the body and specifically the body malfunctioning like a machine would. Plus all sorts of literary references

    Petal -

"What if meaning never comes, and I was just someone to fuck?"

That hits hard knowing the situation that these lyrics came from.

Agreed. You know a song is going to be pretty bleak when the first minute is: "Help. It has gone black. The sky is black. Earth is frozen and black. The moon is black. Snow is black. Her eyes, when open, are black. Light is black. Leads are black. The wires that run from them are black. Stars are black. Time is black. But the thought of death is soft and clean and beautiful and white"
