I recently listened to a podcast with the old drummer from Spitfire and he said that album was everything they wanted to do, but it was produced when their label was dying so all money went to recording it and nothing was left to promote it. It should be huge.
Shamefully I admit I haven't listened to it in like 2 years. But I am jamming it now. So so good. And now I probably wont stop listening to it until Low Teens leaks haha or releases...
AWLWLB is my favorite but I can't deny the sheer magnitude or influence of Jane Doe. I do have a soft spot for DTGL though. Seeing Underoath 10 year shows of that was awesome.
Musically for sure. The post rock kind of experimentation on there suits them well. Plus they finally found a good use for Dudleys keys
I think lyrically Spencer finally found his voice so to speak. Dealing with his drug addiction and marital problems and stuff like that.
Yep, always felt this way since it came out. It seriously bummed me out that I had friends who wouldn't listen to it because Aaron wasn't on it and they thought the band should change their name because there were no more OG members lol
Guys, I am hearing word that MerchConnection has started shipping some Low Teens pre orders. No idea why so early, but, that increases the chances of a leak!
If we're allowing Botch then We Are The Romans is the greatest metalcore album. The riffs in Frequency Ass Bandit alone are worth the title. If that band ever got back together I don't think I'd survive the show. Zero regard for my own personal safety.
I'm an Underoath fan through and through that loves all of their albums, especially with Spencer. But Define the Great Line is still my favorite, it just has an extra something to it for me that pushes it ahead.
When talking about the "best" metalcore album, my mind immediately goes with Jane Doe being the gold standard, but I think my personal favorite or best to me (aside from an ETID record), might have to be something from The Chariot. The problem is that for the life of me, I can never pick a favorite or best release from them. They all hold a special place for me and I go in-and-out of frequent listening binges of each still to this day.
