Love this line: Overstayer What in the fuck am i doing here? Why did the rapture not take me in? Also, "Saturnalia" is a heck of a song. There are days that it rivals "Idiot" as my favorite on From Parts Unknown, and I think "Idiot" could arguably be the best song they've ever done. "Saturnalia" is fast, loud, and relentless. Incredible.
I'm stranded alone in the wake Now I have lost all sight of the grave When did I ever say that I want to be saved? I can see for miles but it doesn't look the same When no road has been paved, go up Now how am I gonna get down? My favorite song on FPU
Romeo A Go Go is also great lyrically. The Shakespeare references alone are enough to get my English major heart pumping quickly
So I already ordered the original pink vinyl variant that is now sold out, but I also just ordered the purple vinyl/t-shirt combo because it said "limited to 100" and that means I had to have it. Don't know if I hate myself or what right now.
Nice. I got the red hand/goat shirt. Would like to know that as well..... I just sent a message to the Merch Connection customer service to see if they can clarify if the vinyl is limited to 100 or 600. As in 100 for each individual bundle equaling 600 or 100 across all bundles. I'm thinking now that it's 600. If that is the case, I might cancel my order and just be satisfied with what I already have haha.
yeah it's a bit confusing how it says "limited to 100 for all bundles".....does that mean each bundle or all the bundles combined? either way, I somehow missed the pink vinyl so i'll be hanging on to this.
the production on the new track is so good probably blasphemy but i thought Ballou's work on the last album was meh
Ballou did a fine job but I think his best work is the new You Fail Me redux and compares to that FPU sounds lacking. I usually prefer Matt Bayles' production when it comes to heavy bands that aren't Converge. That said, The Coin Has A Say is the best this band has sounded since Hot Damn!
Did I miss something? They sounded the same to me? But thanks for posting that video, love watching them live!
I've been listening to The Coin Has a Say probably on average every two days since it came out lol. Also have been ripping through NJA lately trying to learn as much of it on guitar as possible. I'm curious why it doesn't rank higher in people's ETID catalogue, it's tied at 1. with FPU for me. Also, from "Who Invited the Russian Soldier?" Where do you get off loving life? As if it's done any of us any good You're going to wish you were me when the unsuspecting are dragged to their graves and you're standing on the edge holding a rose. Dead where we stand and you concern yourself with such things as your status and what's in fashion? Don't say you can't be this bothered. Death becomes us all.
I've been learning/relearning a lot of their stuff on guitar too. Big Dirty and NJA are so much fun to play.
Yeah actually NJA started making its way towards #1 for me as well, like more and more of it started sticking out to me like After One Quarter of a Revolution, For the Record, The Sweet Life, White Smoke......like fuck, it's really really good. All of their albums are but NJA might just get me the most.
I remember it not being super well received when the album came out, but I've always loved it. That whole end section, especially. What don't you like about it?
My album ranking would be The Big Dirty Everything else Gutter Phenomenon But I don't dislike any of them.
Also some favorite lyrics: My job here is done You're fucking welcome I hope to some day leave a job and sign my goodbye email with that.
