They've actually played some shows recently, so I'd hope we'd hear something soon about them working on new music.
Me too. There are definitely a couple of duds, but there are a few songs I'd consider some of their best in their discography. The songs off of that record sounded good when I saw them live too.
Oddly enough, Eve 6 played a bowling alley north of Seattle a few months back. I wasn't able to go, but I thought it was an interesting venue for them. They were originally part of a nostalgia tour with Dishwalla, Marcys Playground and some other 90's acts, but apparently it was cancelled due to either low ticket sales or an ill-advised promoter. Not sure what to believe but they were scheduled to play a small arena in my area, which seemed to me like they were shooting for the moon haha
Checking out the Fitness EP right now. I'll give it some leash because I'm a fan of Max, but it's not grabbing me much at all on first listen. Judging from the public comments made by Max recently, I'm not expecting anything new from Eve 6. Seems like they're just doing nostalgia tours at this point and it's no longer his focus. That's just me reading between the lines though, I hope I'm wrong.
Fitness EP is certainly interesting, Swimming is the standout after one listen but overall not huge on this vibe
Anyone else ever give Max's solo album a listen? I like it better than Fitness, but it still doesn't hold a candle to the bulk of Eve 6's catalog.
I mean... are they that active of a band that he doesn’t do his other projects and still be in Eve 6? I get it if he’s unhappy being in the band though. But when’s the last time the band was actually seriously active?
I know, I know... I get it for sure. It's just surprising to see after so many years, and even a bit stranger during a period of silence
FUCK YES HOLLY SHITITITITITITITIITITTTTTT Gonna run through their discography today and tomorrow getting amped for this
goddammit. I just realized it's a Fitness album, not Eve 6. WOW I just went through a range of emotions right there
