I agree with the article. It's All In Your Head is their best. It's one of my favorite albums of all time from any band. Horrorscope was good too but I felt it was a bit over produced. But give me any their first 3 albums and I'll be happy.
I agree, the songs rock, I almost feel I might enjoy it more without the production effects but still awesome album regardless
They also need to make another actual Eve 6 album. Whatever they've been releasing lately should've been under a different name, imo
Max knows what people want out of Eve 6, but is uninterested in doing that. Which ... props to following your arrow, I guess. But it's frustrating as a listener.
It's All In Your Head Horrorscope Eve 6 Speak In Code Hyper Relevisation Never understood how It's All In Your Head didn't connect like their first two albums.
Completely agree with the Hard Times list as well. It’s All In Your Head and their debut are my favorite records of theirs so I’m not into shiny production.. but I’m also mostly meh about their newest work that much either so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Other than “because they can do whatever the heck they want” is there a reason they decided to shroud the vocals in that reverb/less clear style for the recent EP/LP?
Kind of a cross between the old sound and new sound if you ask me. A bit less garage rock and a little more polished and melodic than the last album, but with Max's more recent vocal style.
Pretty spot on based on my first listen. Unlike their last album, this one has glimmers of stronger songwriting IMO. It feels more like a demo album, where you can hear the potential it just doesn't fully achieve for me. There are a few songs on here (Forest Lawn, Call on Me, etc) that would have been a lot more memorable with just a bit of polish and some production tweaks.
