I don't mind the change in their style on this album. I just haven't really been into the overall songwriting this time around. Nothing is really standing out to me. Speak in Code was a mixed bag, but it had some memorable tracks imo (Lost & Found, Curtain, Pick Up the Pieces - even though it was originally a Sugi Tap song etc).
Good on them for playing guitars in 2022 but this sounds like every C-tier band on Topshelf/Infinity Cat in 2014.
It's weird that Max seems really excited by music again only for every song to have just the most boring delivery possible.
Not into this new song...or much of anything they've put out in the last few years. It's like he forgot why people like Eve 6. Or doesn't care lol.
holy shit, a new full length, can wait to hear what Max and boys have this time around. For as much as I disliked Speak In Code, it's great the renaissance the band has had in the last few years
I preordered the vinyl (despite the unfortunate album art). While I don't entirely disagree with the backlash against their current style, I still enjoy these songs for what they are and can't shake my soft spot for this band.
Track List 01. rosy shame 02. androgyne friend 03. revolushow 04. careerist lyricist 05. get you 06. mr. darkside 07. christlover 3k 08. i mean you 09. shoulda known better 10. 20 ton weight Don't like any of the songs from it we've heard, so that's an easy pass for me with that art and a ship date in april of next year.
I don’t mind the musical direction (I love S/T and It’s All In Your Head much more than Horrorscope and Speak In Code) but I do think the songs are a little bit boring. Also, why that as artwork? I get keeping it cheap but come on..
