Eve 6 Band

Dunno why I didn't start a thread earlier, but I've been revisiting them a bit lately. One of my favorite bands in my high school/college days. Any one else here a fan?

 

I love Eve 6. Horrorscope takes me back to high school, solid album all the way through. I still rock that album every summer.

 

Horrorscope is their best record, "Good Lives" their best song.

 

Still a fan. I think It's All in Your Head is underrated, but yeah, Horrorscope is their best. Max still remains a favorite songwriter of mine for his cheekiness.

 

He is the cheekiest.

 

Horrorscope is their most complete record but I feel most of their best songs are on It's All In Your Head imo.

 

Speak In Code has some pretty good songs on it but I think it's their weakest album overall.

 

Every time I revisit this band I'm reminded how great their songs are. Horrorscope is probably my favorite album of theirs front to back, but they don't have a lackluster album. Just got tickets to see them on their headlining tour this summer. Really looking forward to it.

 

Some real garbage songs on there. It's not a terrible record (I think "Lost & Found" is one of their career highlights), but I agree it's their weakest. I would go:

Horrorscope
It's All In Your Head
Eve 6
Speak In Code

 

"Bring the Night On" from It's All in Your Head is my jam. Musically, it's their darkest and heaviest record. I really don't know what happened on Speak In Code. I've tried and tried with that album, just ain't feeling it.

 

Max was on the Voice and Verse podcast a year and a half ago and talked a lot about It's All In Your Head and how it was a big reaction to Horrorscope and a result of him being deep in alcohol, etc.

The songs I really dig on Speak in Code are Curtain, Lost & Found, Lion's Den, Moon, Everything, Pick Up the Pieces, and Red & Black.

 

BFGF and Blood Brothers are duds lol

That still really irks me when I listen to it. I have this strange twitch in my brain. Like Pavlov's dog or some shit.

 

Speak In Code has its moments, but it's like a sub-par carbon copy of Horrorscope: tweaked enough so that it's lose some of the original luster.

Man that was tough leaving off a handful of other great ones. Top 20 may have been easier to narrow down haha

 

I can't help but think if they released Girlfriend as the 3rd single from It's All In Your Head like they were intending before they were dropped from RCA Records leading to their initial breakup, it would have been a huge hit like Here's To The Night, if not more so.

 

It's All in Your Head is their best album and "Arch Drive Goodbye" is their best song.

Don't know if I'd agree that It's All in Your Head is their best, but "Arch Drive Goodbye" is a hell of a song. Definitely my favorite on that album.
