Like, did they have a solid writing crew for the first 5-6 eps and then they all quit? Did they forget they had to end the season after ep 5? What the fuck?
Nah the highlights in the first half (and the wild Rue ep) are better than anything from S1. This shit is just…very bad
The premiere was a pretty damn good ep of this kind of TV. Pretty well executed all around. Cool shots, memorable scenes, good reintroduction to (most) of the characters, great music etc. Feels like a different show here
sydney sweeney is bad and the increased focus on her and weird fascination with turning her into, like, the next marilyn monroe or whatever is baffling to me also the way bill simmons and sean fennessey talk about her is super odd and creepy
Well this was a mess and was only made worse because I watched it with my gf, her sister, her niece and 2 dogs. The dogs were playing the entire time, her sister had to pause every 10 minutes. It was so annoying.
I haven't finished the episode yet, but I cried during Elliot's song. Idk, for as bizarre and borderline-problematic as this show is, I think my love for these characters is enough to let me look past all of it.
Honestly this whole show is over-the-top, I have no idea why the shoot-out scene was too much for y'all. The only real problem was that it was so slow-motion that it took up to much space in the episode. Everything Ash and Fez respectively did was totally in character.
Also, I think the fact I don't care about monogamy made it hard for me to care about a lot of the plot arcs this season. I literally keep forgetting Elliot and Jules cheated on Rue cause like... I don't care. Maddy getting mad about Cassie is more reasonable because Nate's her abuser, but Cassie didn't know that, so in my eyes Cassie did nothing wrong. I think that really altered my perception of the show this season because infidelity plot lines just wash over my smooth brain.
Okay sorry, how on earth is the play telling events that happened chronologically after the play? What the fuck?
Oh fuck it, I don't care, I liked this episode and liked a lot of the season. Season Review: I think there was too much filler, and if they cut down some of the gratuitous Nate/Cassie drama it would be a lot tighter, and they'd have had more time to focus on side-stories like Kat & Ethan's break-up, Faye's internal life, Elliot & Jules' relationship. But there's always a Season 3, which I'm anticipating with bated breath. Episode Review: I think Rue's scenes with Lexi & Elliot were sweet, and I appreciated them a lot. I actually got really emotional about Ash's death, and I think I don't care about originality or realism enough to criticize the shootout scene. Seeing Jules cry at the end broke my heart, but I understand why Rue did what she did. Glad to see Cal written out of the show, but I was surprised Nate didn't use the gun. Overall I liked the finale. Loose Threads: I'm surprised that dude flirting with Maddy in Episode 1 didn't come back at all, it felt like they were building up some kind of arc for him. Honestly surprised at how little screentime Elliot got in general. Especially shocked the Laurie storyline dissapeared, but I think it's mostly because they want to leave it hanging to be further developed over the rest of the series. Looking forward: I'm nervous about Season 3 abandoning the Rue & Jules' relationship story-arc because Zendaya & Hunter have the most chemistry of any two actors on the show, and their relationship is what I like the most about the show. Maddy saying "this is just the beginning" pissed me off because... it basically implies that Cassie/Nate's entire plot-line will repeat in perpetuity. I think it's clear that there will be a huge timejump next season, because Rue spoke about post-finale events in the past-tense, and these actors are gonna be pushing 30 by the time the next season comes out, they will not make cute 16-17y/os anymore. Obviously Fez will still be alive next season, otherwise they would've showed his death, but I'm wondering what they'll do with him considering he'll be in prison and injured.
Damn not the reaction I expected in here This show's whole thing is being extremely over the top and unrealistic, why was that too much now? I thought the shootout scene was really cool and Angus Cloud acted the shit out of it. The part with Cassie going on stage and giving a villain speech was very dumb (again, where is the supervision in this school) but it made me laugh. Also I like Elliott, I didn't realize everyone hated him for some reason The scene at the end with Rue and Lexi was really nice and I hope their friendship stays solid. I also hope they give Rue a break next season and let her stay clean but I doubt that will happen This season was better than the first season imo but apparently I watch the show for different reasons than a lot of people lol
