I remember liking her album Perverts when it came out this year, so I checked out her new single Fuck My Eyes. Different, but still very good. I’ll have to check out her first album.
Perverts is completely different from her other stuff. Don’t expect anything like that on the first album
I’ve never really taken the time to listen to Ethel Cain before, but I really like Fuck Me Eyes. Very interested in hearing more.
Since she seems to be attracting new listeners, I’ll toss out that my personal favorite song of hers is “Sun Bleached Flies.”
I can’t stop hearing the title ‘Fuck Me Eyes’ through the lens of differing regional accents from the UK.
I’d really love for her to do more in the “Fuck Me Eyes” style, but if she doesn’t, it’s an easy song of the year contender. Reminds me of “Sunday” by Let’s Eat Grandma, this absolutely perfect emotional shimmer.
It is kind of crazy that we have reached the point of releasing Google Doc responses to allegations against non-famous people
I guess I'm old and from a different generation but, like, does EVERYTHING now have to be shared on public forums these days?
6.7 Pitchfork annoyed they had to break off from listening to some garbage hip-hop to review some actual music
I really liked this on first listen but the singles are probably the immediate standouts. Waco, Tempest and Dust Bowl were all really great slow builds. This feels almost like a mid point between Preacher's Daughter and Perverts.
Oh shit, people are starting to hear this. Can’t believe it’s so close to being in my ears. I shouldn’t stay up that late with work tomorrow, but if I’m not asleep yet at midnight, I may have to give it a nighttime spin.
only a few (long) tracks to enjoy outside of the singles for me, could take or leave the instrumentals. Still happy to have it
Couldn’t have said it better. I have to add: Waco is perfect. All 15 mins are justified. Felt like I was ascending into the heavens for the last five minutes. What a special song.
