Echo is really good, Gore I don’t really care for

Starting think I just don’t like JT in this band that much lol

There are bits from the studio video they posted that aren't in either song. The solo at the end of the video and that riff after Dan says "Alice In Chains-y."

I can't wait to see these live. These two tracks are really special and we are for sure in for an all timer from them.

im one of cures biggest glazers, i think that album is really special both in the context of their discog and as a standalone work of art, but this song is immediately better than everything besides glimpse and maybe wave lmao. ive seen a lot of drift comparisons too but honestly i much prefer this songs take on that albums style and the way its informed by all the lessons and confidence theyve gained in the near decade since

Cure is the first time they've considered the album as it's own artform and I hope that carries over into this next one. Sucks we gotta wait til next year though, but considering they recorded parts that aren't in either song maybe we'll get another single in the fall.

did they say that? because self titled is goddamn immaculately sequenced for an album that wasnt thought of that way lol, one of the best paced albums of all time

No I think only I say that lol but for the record I'm including the consistent themes that run throughout Cure and other factors when I say that. The self titled is well paced and all the songs are great but Cure feels like you're meant to listen from start to finish, like they wanna take you on a journey (other examples of this would be MisSig's Controller or Minus the Bear's Planet of Ice). ST doesn't really do that, each song stands on its own.

interesting, i actually feel like s/t is the most deliberately theyve ever done that lol. they thread songs together by key in a way where they almost set up like three or four different suites (snowblood/gungrave, house of glass/shadow, electric twilight/scorpion hymn/lunar halo, eidolon/remnant, the three bonus tracks) with the melodic tracks (divisionary/vanish/memory fiction) feeling like the transitions between the lil tonal islands. that and all the lyrical callbacks on the record to each other, its probably the record that feels most contingent on its sequence in their discog for me. the songs on cure are so varied that to my ear they could almost go wherever and achieve a similar musical effect, although i do think 90% of them are in the right place
