I definitely use metalcore as a broader genre umbrella these days because it's kind of difficult to keep up with all of the additional sub-genres. I feel a good bit of those sub-genres share a lot of the same DNA from traditional metalcore as well, so I realize what I view metalcore might differ from others. What I'm trying to say is I feel like the lines have blurred a lot over recent years
https://www.reddit.com/r/Metalcore/...=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button ERRA and Currents teaser. Also including a reddit post from a few months ago of someone "guessing" that its a tour.
The guy on Reddit did say the coheadliner would be for both band’s album releases but Currents split their album into EPs so who knows.
ERRA - further eden (January 29th) NOTE: this was posted on a discord server I’m in late yesterday. Idk the source of it but based on the discord server I assume it is. If it is real and it’s the album announcement single then this potentially puts the new album out on March 27th or April 3rd.
dont know if i like that cover although this album and self titled imo both have terrible album covers and are among my favorite albums of all time so whatever lol (and conversely drift and neon have gorgeous cover art and are my least favorite erra releases)
I like that they brought the color back. ERRA’s riffs are always so colorful and I like when the art matches that.
the last volumes already kinda looks like the self titled did ngl i do like the color palate a lot, i think im just tired of the more minimalist approach thats more or less just their logo with different effects on it lol
Considering Jesse's love of movies I'm kinda shocked they haven't done like a photo as a cover. Also surprisingly (but probably for the best) this has not hit twitter yet.
Well, it’s definitely for sure real. Also, the color palette makes it feel like an indie rock album. Some Tame Impala shit or something. It’s still minimalist but at least it isn’t black and/or white like the previous two.
doing a discog run today and the extent to which this band means to me is indescribable. feel like ive really watched them come into their own on the last two albums too. the self titled is such a huge landmark album for their lane of core and is embedded in the fabrics of so many memories these last five years. still holding strong as my favorite album of the decade
I listen to self-titled and Gore of Being/Echo Sonata every two weeks or so. Every so often, throw in Cure and Drift, too. I also run through Ghost Atlas every couple weeks too. Jesse Cash is one of the best gifts my ears have ever received.
I reached out to the person who started the February 6th release date thing and they told me that there might be a single before further eden based on what someone who had Gore of Being early told them. I should note, when the singles were announced someone on reddit implied he had heard both songs early and I reached out to him to see if they leaked. They told me their friend works at UNFD so he got to listen early and I didn’t ask anything else because I didn’t wanna jeopardize his friend’s job. I’m wondering if this is the same guy.
Neon remains my favorite as a relatively new fan, but I'm spending more time with the others and I'm sure that, let's say three months from today, I won't even have a clear favorite anymore. Incredibly consistent band. Also I've heard they're not big on Neon for some reason and that's why they don't really play stuff from it live?
All the mixing issues plus Jesse not having really finished the album when they went in to record caused it to be really rushed. There’s nuggets of good there but I don’t they’ll revisit it unless they can do full rewrite/rerecord.
