show wasnt sold out last night, and i'd be real surprised if its sold out right now. unless you've checked already, its worth to try
New song sounds alright. I never thought about it (probably because I never expected a "return" of EOTC) but it would be a massive let down for me if they released a follow up to Lowcountry that wasn't up to par. Lowcountry is honestly one of my all time favorite records. There's songs on there that still give me chills like "Made of Stone" and "Clean of You". "Spinal Cords" is another one that gets somehow better with every listen.
I feel like Lowcountry is already a classic that can not be topped, but I would be more bummed if we didn't get another record from them
EOTC is a band I always casually listened to but never got heavily into... recently I found out Lucy Gray is one of my girlfriend's all-time favorite/most impactful albums from growing up, so I've been listening to it a good amount since her music taste is great haha. It's a great 2000's post-hardcore album, for me it holds up well. Oddly enough I don't think I've ever heard anything from Lowcountry, but reading so much effusive praise for it here and elsewhere has me really curious, so I'm finally checking it out tonight! I've heard it's totally different from LG, so I'm going in with no idea of what to expect. Will post my thoughts later.
This album is so consistent, can't even pick a weak track. "Head First In the River" has been stuck in my head all morning. Can't believe I'm just now listening, this is gonna be on repeat a LOT.
I'm actually really stoked for new material now based on "Virginia Girls"... it's super catchy for me, like a more accessible, soulful Lowcountry.
