Totally agreed there. I think the band really shines when they hone in and conceptually have the space to play with sounds across a whole album. Still hesitant about it without Sal though, but excited either way
Yeah.. I wish Jer and Sal were back but I’ll take this over nothing for sure. What I would really love is another NK record though... Nothing To Gain Here is a goddamn beast of a record!
That EP was actually a hell of a lot better than I expected it to be. Some groovy jams on there I still come back to.
This is probably the best thing any of them have released since Lowcountry. Real good stuff here The Tens - EP by 1ST VOWS on Apple Music
Oh wow, didn’t know there was new 1ST VOWS on the way. Love the other two EPs, will check that out for sure
I wasn’t a big fan of the previous 1st Vows material but this EP really blew me away. Easily his best tracks to date for this project.
Actually this is the best since Lowcountry, but Ryan has moved on from Quiett Dog and that makes me real sad. Nonetheless, The Tens is a very good EP
Can someone help me out with who is what, this band has always confused me... please fill out the following Original Envy: NK: Quiett Dogg: Heavy English: 1st Vows: Current Envy: did I miss anything?!?
@irthesteve Original Envy: Ryan Hunter, Bryan Byrne, Sal Bossio, Jer Velardi, Dan Gluszak NK: Ryan Hunter, Bryan Byrne, Michael Sadis, Billy Rymer Quiett Dogg: Ryan Hunter Heavy English: Sal Bossio, Dan Gluszak, Ari Sadowitz 1st Vows: Ryan Hunter Current Envy: Ryan Hunter, Bryan Byrne
Wow, I never realized that most everything is Ryan haha. So confusing. Either way, I'll check out this new 1st Vows
Listened to The Tens a few times today, couple of jams on there for sure (Body Talk and Up In Flames) but I think the other two releases are a lot more interesting. The Green EP was a grower but I think I like it more than the Red EP at this point, which I also loved.
I still adore Ritual, I’m surprised more people didn’t love it. I think all those songs are REALLY strong. I know this has already been discussed a bunch, but I’ve never really listened to any of the members’ side projects, which are the best to check out if I want more of Ryan and/or Lowcountry vibes?
I just decided to check some 1st Vows since I’ve always wanted to hear Ryan doing more pop-oriented stuff... this is dope! I can’t believe I never checked out any of this til now.
Ritual is alright. Its good for what it is. I think these guys are at their best when they are heavier.
