Netflix is actively hiring an assassin so they can release the remaining seven on a binge release model.
Austin Butler might be the only actor of his generation capable of following Colin Ferrell's Miami Vice
As a general rule of thumb, we don't need to be remaking Michael Mann movies, but that's good casting.
I don’t find myself having interest by default in “a ‘Miami Vice’ reboot.” But, if you want me to look at two men for two hours, those are two of the best men you could pick for me to look at.
There is an unusually large amount of movies from real directors in theaters right now. A Guadagnino, a del Toro, a Reichardt, and a Linklater, and technically I need to get around to The Smashing Machine. Usually the roster isn't this deep until December.
The Mastermind is easily the one I would most like to see but it is the only one that is an hour plus drive. I am so tired of making that drive and then a week later it comes to town. I probably need to see the new Frankenstein this weekend since we are reading it in class. Homecoming is tomorrow night so I can't do them all.
My local theater usually has a pretty good selection of films from blockbusters to smaller stuff and even random local indie films, but the selection right now is a little weak. The only one that I want to see is Frankenstein.
I don't have a cool indie theatre a convenient distance from me (closest is the Tampa Theatre in Ybor across the Bay from me) but the local venue in Clearwater pretty close to me that usually just has third rate classic rock acts booked has started doing special screenings of old movies. They're doing a screening of Stop Making Sense next month and I am considering going.
Even not being a fan of Talking Heads prior, seeing Stop Making Sense in imax a few years back was the closest a movie has felt like a religious experience
