anyway the story is more interesting than the poster. We started taking the students to a movie before christmas break. 3 years ago, I went into the men’s room of the AMC and saw “The Alamo” (2004) poster behind glass as if it were a movie currently showing. I thought it was very funny that a movie that nobody remembers is still hanging up in a movie theater.

the next year, we went back and I immediately went to see the poster, but it was not there. One of my former students was the manager, so I asked her about it and she said they might have it in the back room. After Christmas break, I had the framed poster delivered to my classroom.

It hung in the Franklin Mills AMC for 20 years. I had to walk by that poster on dates with my wife. Some of my students’ parents probably went on dates and walked by it before they were born. A piece of history. They announced the theater (and most likely the entire mall) was closing earlier this year. The Alamo (2004) poster survives.

As a kid I got in good with the local video store and got tons of posters. I remember having Devil with a Blue Dress, Cutthroat Island and Congo in particular.

The local rental place would sell posters for like 50 cents once they were done with them. I probably had 30 different movie posters on my walls throughout middle/high school.
