It's so dumb, but watching that video about it is also like... Future-feeling crazy to see, it's unbelievable we're at this point when just a couple years ago and AI prompt of wizard of Oz would spit out a 2d creature that kinda looked like a lion with no face

 

The Wizard of Oz is one of like ten objectively perfect movies

The Wizard of Oz is something I saw so many times in school or as a kid that I don't know if I would ever watch it again. It is just so ingrained into my brain. The same probably goes for the original Star Wars movies and Indiana Jones.

 

FF cratering in its second week.....we love to see it.

When capeslop makes less money, studios have less incentive to keep making it.

 

Yeah, I don’t see any upside to it underperforming. If anything, it shows that pretty much all movies are not hitting the marks studios are hoping for.

It “bombing” did not translate into additional box office for “Bad Guys 2” or “The Naked Gun,” since neither met expectations. It just means, once again, people aren’t going to the theaters like they did pre-COVID.

 

TNG's take is pretty good for a comedy in 2025, no? (I'm out of town for a week but I'm plotting a screening next week, seems like an ideal Tuesday viewing.)

 

It’s decent for a comedy, but still on the low end of what was predicted. It’ll still make back its budget and then some, but it’s not a massive smash.

 

My vibes-based analysis is that it might have legs.
