I also worked with a dude who was allergic to his own dead skin cells so he had to wash his sheets every single day. Dude would come in with some of the nastiest looking skin rashes I ever seen.
I love Ruby Red Grapefruit and for most of my life I thought Grapefruit making your lips and tongue tingly was normal. I found out during the pandemic that nope it isn't normal, I just probably have a minor citrus allergy. I'll admit that sensation is a part of the appeal.
Fast food fish does not really work on a large scale because of the cost of fish rising higher than other sources of meat. Boats are having to go further out to find fish when means more labor plus diesel for the boats.
KFC very quietly stepped it up, it's a long journey to beat the reputation they had set for themselves but I do think they got a lot better Jollibee is close enough to me that I'll never get KFC but still
Pineapple doesn’t do that to my mouth but the amount of citrus acid makes my neck tense up a bit if I have a ton of it
I find that KFC varies wildly in quality. Food can sit for a long time and it goes from delicious to almost inedible. It is also almost 50 percent cheaper than Popeye's for the same thing.
KFC is very nostalgic for me, but i'd probably default to something like Popeye's if in close proximity. used to have a couple Bojangles locations near me as a kid before they left Missouri for good. would love to go back one day
when i worked at a diner that sold all you can eat "catfish" we actually served some kind of farm fish that, as far as I know, does not exist in the wild
Popeye's is much better than KFC but it can be so slow sometimes. An hour wait for fast food is not worth it.
Culver’s doesn’t do their plates/“dinners” anymore. Really disappointing. Some of the stuff they had were among the best fast food options you could get.
Bringing back potato wedges was a step in the right direction KFCs can be good or bad depending on the crew running it. I enjoy KFC but my local spot misses more then they hit.
the last KFC i regularly visited varied wildly in quality and customer service too. there was a point where i put in a pickup order on my phone and the entire restaurant was closed, despite the app letting me order there. everyone at the drive-thru felt like they hated everything about the job though, so i guess it makes sense that the experience would only be occasionally good.
The last two times I ate inside at KFC I asked for a tray and they looked at me like I was insane and they didn't know what I was talking about. I had to use the bag as a plate.
