Animal Farm was clearly destroyed at some point by execs because it was in development hell for so long so I don't blame anyone involved
I like how Seth just does whatever project he wants regardless of quality, from good stuff like The Studio and Platonic then to stuff like Sausage Party and Animal Farm
This probably isn't what he meant but that film was distributed by these guys: Angel Studios - Wikipedia
As someone who distributes movies, the actors and actresses in my movies have zero choice of being distributed by my company
Angel is a garbage, propagandistic studio that mostly acquires/creates forgettable films and shows to anyone outside of conservative Christian/LDS circles. while i do blame some of the creatives for the quality of their projects, i don't blame anyone for being acquired by a company who stakes its whole reputation on releasing low-quality projects for the sake of being "family friendly".
I’ve only seen a few films from that studio and all of them were pretty poorly made. I did enjoy the animated film King of Kings. Only seen a few episodes of The Chosen. Animal Farm though…dog water.
my mom loves The Chosen. so does everybody who'd rather see yet another retelling of the exact same story they've heard most of their lives rather than critically engaging with its message (or art that does the same)/applying it to how they live and treat others. not saying people can't get something from the show. but for its majority conservative Christian audience, it always feels less like something to learn a lesson from/parallel to contemporary times (like putting some sort of distance between the original story and now) and more like a way to make people feel comfortable about their beliefs and identities and nothing more.
It’s a bummer too that angel studios and their content promotes/encourages the MAGA ideology while trying to present the message of the Gospels to the viewer. Anyone who has read the Gospels would know it doesn’t align with the MAGA ideology at all, but the conservative crowd likes to blend the two and use the angel studios content as a sort of evidence for their viewpoint.
That sounds terrible. If it comes together, it’ll probably be the first Expendables movie I see. “Expendabelles” is such a funny, good name.
WHo are the aging female action stars that they'll try and grab for that? The one that immediately comes to mind is Angelina Jolie?
my wife for some reason watched the 2016 film Mother's Day last night. Terrible film with a bunch of big names.
