knew nothing about this movie, so seeing Ariana here was a bit of a jumpscare

 

Honestly - Here for it. Ariana rarely gets to show off her comedic chops and it’s fun to have a straight-up comedy that’s not made by the worst people alive. Also, this has like 3 actors from “Booksmart,” so I consider that a plus.

 

for the record, i don't doubt she has comedic chops. i just can't really see her as anyone but Ariana Grande. i'm sure she'll do a really good job, just hard to not see her as "Ariana Grande playing a character in a movie" and not Ariana Grande playing "a character in a movie", if that makes sense.

 

tbf that works for Wicked and also Gideon Gemstone marrying Ariana Grande also a funny bit

 

i only see him as Eric Bemis, tbh (and that guy who follows a bunch of IDF accounts on his social media)

i didn't grow up with disney channel so i often forget ari was on there

 

she likes to do comedy, she’s great on SNL

also she is a big popstar and was in 2 huge movies so why not do something dumb and fun?

i’d hate to think the bar for comedy is so low that i end up morbidly curious enough to check that one out despite not seeing the last films that no one especially liked
