I went recently for the first time in like 7 years and it was a worse experience than the AMCs I typically go to.
Alamo pulled a ton of shit here with their location in KC. Terrible working conditions, harassment, etc. and then saved face by closing and blaming it on COVID. Not that any theater chain is good, but Alamo and the Leagues should have burned in Hell long ago.
the one I lived by in Dallas closed during Covid and "came back" less than a year later. I assume it's corporate owned now but not sure.
That toll plaza where he crashed is like 10 minutes from my house and I saw the news about a crash there, but had no idea it was him. The story gets crazier because apparently the governor and her state police detail happened to be right there and were the ones to pull him out of the car to safety. That toll plaza has also had a few horrific crashes over the years, including a fatal one with the bassist of Cave In
Has anyone been to a 70mm imax? Is it worth the hype? I’m going to Montana for a week in early August and might stop by Colorado on the way. A 70mm imax is opening in Colorado Springs this summer so I’m debating about watching The Odyssey while I’m there. The closest 70mm imax to me is 6 hours away so I’ve never been
Yes as long as you can get seats towards the back. I'm old so my eyes are not great at being able to take in the entire image if I'm too close to the screen.
I saw a trailer for a Theo Von/David Spade comedy that’s coming to theaters and it really feels like we’re sinking further into Hell.
It’s not bad enough for me to outright not go but theaters like Alamo where servers are just scurrying around while I’m trying to watch a movie is not my ideal setting
Best start to a year since Covid. Rest of the year is packed with big releases as well. Wouldn’t be surprised at all if 2026 is the best year at the box office since 2019.
Yeah, Super Mario rolling into Michael rolling into Devil Wears Prada 2 is gonna make huge, consistent business. Plus, all the times that @imthegrimace sees “You, Me and Tuscany.”
