This movie feels very like this site's thing. Canadian Indie Rom Com starring Barbie Ferreira from Euphoria and Jay Baruchel. Directed and written by Chandler Lavack (who previously did the PUP video for Guilt Trip).

Based on Lavack's own time as a music writer, it's about a professional music critic in 2011 who moves to Montreal with the goal of writing a book about Alanis Morissette's album Jagged Little Pill, but finds herself In the middle of a romantic triangle with two members of an up and coming indie band.

I knew this movie was for me the second they showed the protagonist reading list as Chuck Klosterman, Kurt Vonnegut, and Hunter S Thompson. Exactly what I was reading in 2011 too lol
