I want to set the record straight on the first page: Best of the Best: 1. Music 2. Books 3. Movie 4. TV 5. Games 6. Podcasts Worst of the Medium: 1. Movies 2. TV 3. Games 4. Music 5. Podcasts 6. Books What I consume the most: 1. Podcasts 2. Music 3. Books 4. Movies 5. Games 6. TV 2025 releases: 1. Music 2. Movies 3. Podcasts 4. TV I haven’t read any 2025 books or played any 2025 games.
Youtube videos, instagram reels and social media will always be last. The only exceptions are: Catatonicyouth(s) Peligrososocialclub Crisis.acting they are better than TV
Released in the last 5 years or that I’ve read in the last 5 years? I am so behind on new fiction and trying to read “classics” that I don’t have an answer for the former outside of some nonfiction texts and horror novels
In terms of the best books that I’ve read in the last 5 years (not including The Great Gatsby or other re-reads): Blood Meridian Jesus’ Son A Portrait of An Artist as a Young Man The Path to Paradise The Devil’s Candy
I was looking for released in the last 5 years. Im in the same boat for fiction, usually end up reading classics and disappointed when I try recent releases from new authors.
I finally started reading again this year after not reading anything for a few years and I probably won’t get to any 2025 releases unless I read that Joe Abercrombie book.
My top books published in the past five years (fiction): Interior Chinatown - Charles Yu Devil House - John Darnielle Harlem Shuffle / Crook Manifesto - Colson Whitehead James - Percival Everett The Passenger / Stella Maris - Cormac McCarthy I don't do a great job keeping up with new fiction aside from a couple authors, so there has probably been a ton of good stuff that I missed. And non-fiction: Mood Machine: The Rise of Spotify and the Costs of the Perfect Playlist - Liz Kelly Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents - Isabel Wilkerson Sellout: The Major-Label Feeding Frenzy That Swept Punk, Emo, and Hardcore - Dan Ozzi Crying In H-Mart - Michelle Zauner
I love reading but I’m super slow with it. Really enjoyed that 3 Shades of Blue book about Coltrane, Davis, and Evans. Slowly making my way through Vonnegut now
i know we have bigger issues as a country right now but if anyone can make zazlav go away that would be great
