Idk what you mean by revisionist history there. I thought it was funny when it came out and I thought it was funny when I rewatched it a couple years ago. It is one of the only DVDs I've owned since high school and is certainly my favorite Will Ferrell movie
I saw it in theaters. It was funny, but I don’t remember it capturing any part of the zeitgeist until recently on twitter. It was on par with like…Neighbors? Talledega Nights? A step above something like The Heat or The Goods Live Hard Sell Hard. I’d take Semi Pro over it
Other Guys is incredible. If My Hero ever comes on when I’m with one of my homies we’ll immediately say “aim for the bushes?”
Other Guys actually just came up in conversation because we just hired an ex cop who got fired for accidentally discharging his weapon in the office and we were all saying “desk pop” a bunch
Same level. Mildly amusing film I watched on a plane and never thought of again until my feed gets infiltrated by it every 6 months.
So, I know that Stepbrothers is a funny movie, but the thought of it makes me cringe because I watched it with my parents in high school and I remember how uncomfortable I felt as Kathryn Hahn goes off about stuffing John C Reilly inside her with them sitting next to me lmao
Stepbrothers and Anchorman are awesome but they’re also the favorite movies of the worst people you know.
I like Pineapple Express and This Is The End more than Superbad in terms of Seth Rogen's films. Still very funny though
Funniest of each decade is challenging. Do I pick Wet Hot American Summer or Superbad for the 00s? Tough choice
