Pretty good list though. Glad they included Blood In Blood Out, Mi Vida Loca, and The Fast and the Furious. Only glaring omissions I can think of are Menace II Society, Society, Rush Hour, and Lethal Weapon.
Fargo or A Serious Man are the obvious Minnesota answers. Unless you’re a diehard Jingle All the Way fan
According to IMDB's location search, the number one movie filmed in my actual town is Light of Day, a Michael J. Fox movie that I've never heard of. Also on this list is Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie, which is how I'm finding out that the VeggieTales studio was in the mall a couple miles from my house for many years. They also planned on taking over the long-shuttered movie theater here but couldn't get the money to finish the project. Chicago more generally obviously has tons, The Dark Knight being the big recent-ish one. I love the parts of The Killer that Fincher shot out here in the suburbs too.
Where I grew up in Chicago had much better answers but Charlotte is kind of only talladega nights. Even when the state tax breaks used to make it advantageous to shoot in NC vs how it is in GA now, most of it was done in Wilmington and the more woodsy part of the middle of the state. American animals, eyes of Tammy Faye, hunger games, leatherheads, and the please don’t destroy SNL movie all shot in my old neighborhood in Charlotte but mostly suck lol. Even talladega nights was in concord where the nascar track is and not Charlotte proper.
Kennedy Space Center is in my county so we have almost all of the space movies. I Dream of Jeannie was set here but it was not filmed here.
Pig comes to mind first. I know Drugstore Cowboy was here too but have never seen it. Feels like most Reichardt pictures are here or at least nearby
Don’t remember which Jackass it was, but the one where England shits in the display toilet was at a hardware store I shop at often
Donnie Darko, Ferris Bueller, and American Pie houses are a block away and the diner from Cinderella Story is on the corner of my street. Tons of things are shot in Long Beach as in most places within the TMZ, but things I noticed recently while watching movies are the hotel she jumps off in beginning of Lethal Weapon, the beach in Body Double, the freeway entrance they accidentally get on in Clueless.
Out of Sight Only Lovers Left Alive Blue Collar I’m not sure if the Detroit set sections of True Romance were actually shot here. I think they were. Ryan Gosling’s only directorial feature was shot here by Benoit Debie and looks gorgeous.
not actually positive these were OKC but definitely Oklahoma: Rain Man Logan Killers Of The Flower Moon definitely Oklahoma City: Twister Twister$
