have no familiarity with/interest in Tomb Raider. if this is the one that Phoebe Waller-Bridge is doing though, it might be decent.
As big as Game of Thrones was you don't see many of those actors in much. Pascal is the big exception.
Thought both Angelina and Alicia Vikander were solid as Croft. The material just wasn’t that good. I’m guessing Sophie might be a more sarcastic take on the character?
Maybe this is just too specific, did anyone else have parents that would change the channel or something similar during spicy scenes, thus inadvertently cluing you in on something you probably wouldn't have understood anyway?
Just saw this exchange on her IG haha speaking of which, it is crazy to me that Alfie hasnt gotten more high profile opportunities after Thrones. He did such a great job
It’s so funny for our forums’ most “awooga” poster to post such an obviously “awooga” tweet about Lara Croft and not get it. I personally would’ve liked more Vikander, and would also rather have a movie than a show. Turner looks great, though.
I know enough about the discourse on Lara Croft to just assume anyone not being clear about whether they like her appearance or not makes me automatically assume they're complaining about woke lol
My mother was much more permissive (she took us to see Saving Private Ryan when I would have been 10 and my brother would have been 8), but my father was much more restrictive. He made me turn off Almost Famous because of the profanity. It was always ironic, though, considering how much profanity he used around us from as far back as I can remember.
I remember my dad showing Airplane! when I was pretty young and there were boobs. I saw Titanic in third grade and by fifth grade I don’t think they were monitoring what I was watching at all.
@irthesteve i know you guys had at least a joint stake in it for a long time, but props to you guys at Shout for getting full control over MST3K. Radial Entertainment Completes Purchase of 'MST3K' - Media Play News
A slow but steady path to this from our first DVD box set of the show in 2008, and even further back if you count Rhino as part of the path
Maybe I am just more online this year but it seems like the discourse around almost every big/awards movie from 2025 is insufferable
