Based on my letterboxd I've seen 21 movies in theaters this year, so an average of a little less than every other week. I have a group of friends I often go with, though I just as often go by myself. Mosy people in my life basically never go to the movies anymore, the amount of people who actually care about being able to see stuff in the theater is really small, streaming services are so universal now (and most people seem to prefer tv shows over movies anyway), and I can't blame anyone for being turned off by theater prices. The most crowded theaters I've seen in the past several years have been like Avatar 2, the Dune movies, and Barbenheimer.
Thunderbolts, Superman and Fantastic Four are the only movies I've seen in theaters since COVID hit, heh.
I don't think there has ever been a moment in my life where I saw anywhere close to that many movies in theaters in a year lol
A-List definitely gets me to go when I otherwise wouldn't but I'd probably still see at least 20 a year if I had to pay for individual tickets.
I was in Tennessee for work a few months ago and instead of being bored in a hotel I went to the movies each night
Probably like 30 for me in the theater this year edit: like 30 new releases. Probably another 10-12 more of anniversary re-release stuff
I don’t log what I see, but I think I’m at or near 20 trips to the theater this year. Which, isn’t as impressive as some of y’all, lol. Generally feel happy with how often I make it out, though.
My wife only goes to the theater like once a year. I would love to be weekly but it’s more like monthly. More in the summer when I’m off work.
I’ve seen 17 new releases and 8 rereleases at the art house. Definitely going to screenings of The Green Knight and Godzilla Minus One later this month. Also plan on seeing Avatar.
I’m at 22 in cinema this year. Thought I’d been slacking, but by comparison I only hit 24 last year and two of those I saw twice. 16 the year before. So I suppose if anything this might be my most active year of the decade so far 60+ while also finding time for television, at home movie experiences and theatrical rewatches is blowing my mind haha. Truly no judgement, I know when you’re in a groove like that it just feels like second nature. I can be like that with music
i generally don't have the chance to go to the theaters all that often, but i believe i saw 5 on the big screen this year, with at least one more (Kill Bill) in less than a week (also need to get Avatar tix)
