I've only seen her in AHS Hotel which tbh is one of my fav seasons. She was... fine, I guess?

I'm not really looking forward to her take on Harley, but only because I feel like the Joker movie, which I haven't seen, attracted a lot of incels or whatever

 

Shallow wasn't even the best song nominated that year.

 

I like Shallow, but I always find that scene in the movie to be kind of wild. I know her character is a great musician, but I find it hard to believe she can just come on stage and instantly know how to perform the arrangement Bradley Cooper came up with. She knows the lyrics, but she sang like two lines to him the night before, how could she perform it that well with no rehearsal?!

I think Cooper has a few decent performances.

 

Insane thread. This person got into a deep deep rabbit hole after Shazaming a song in the background of an X-Files episode and discovering no record of the song exists anywhere. They ended up getting a bunch of current tv composers and music supervisors/editors jumping in the thread trying to help them figure it out. Someone even contacted the episodes music editor to look it up, and someone found the episode's cue sheet.

If The Last Duel and what I've heard about Napoleon are any indication, I feel like the cartoonish/funny performances were part of the point, tbh.

Even with that said, Jared Leto's whole "it's-a-me, Mario!" vibe sucks ass

Someone referred to Leto's performance as a white person doing whiteface and I feel like it is the best description.

 

"Shallow" isn't close to one of the best winners. Which is more because there are a ton of bangers in almost 90 years of the Oscars than because of anything bad about "Shallow"
