The fact that Modern Family can even sniff Best Comedy Series with a field like that (and notable snubs like The Good Place and Brooklyn Nine-Nine not even making the cut) is embarrassing. Same goes for House of Cards in Drama Series; how does that get in but Mr. Robot, for example, does not. And that's even without Game of Thrones in the mix because its season aired too late to qualify.

Really hoping Bob Odenkirk gets his Best Actor in a Drama Series award this year. Also really hoping Aziz or Donald Glover win Best Comedy Actor. Time for Tambor to stop dominating that category.

Thandie Newton needs to win Drama Supporting Actress in the worst way. Ditto for Jonathan Banks in Drama Supporting Actor. In Comedy Supporting, woah are those good fields; Kate McKinnon and Tituss Burgess though, pls. And David Thewlis had better win Supporting Actor in a Miniseries for V.M. Varga, dammit.

Great read. She's among my favorite working actresses.

 

I saw her in The Ring when it came out, then Birdman when that came out, then Mulholland Drive last year, then Eastern Promises this year. I have this strange disconnect where I know it's her in all four movies but when I'm watching I feel like I've never seen her in anything before. And like, although I haven't seen King Kong, I would see screenshots of her in it, but I wouldn't point at it and go "oh hey that's Naomi Watts." It's like I know what she looks like but I can't recognize her. Weird.

Anyway, yeah, that was a good read. The stuff about how she would travel all the time as a kid, especially how it affects her life decisions now, and the stuff about her experience with therapy were really interesting.
