I used to collect crew hats from TV sets I’d gotten to visit in one of my movie jobs in 2012 but they’re shitty hats so I’ve mostly given them away. Mad Men is probably all I have left

 

i have to imagine a succession hat would be just a plain black hat, in honor of kendall

 

I have a Parasite poster and a Serpico poster I found at a thrift store

 

I buy beer glasses with things on them. The aftermarket on them is wild. I have a Gizmo glass that I paid $20 for that is now worth $200

 

But do you have the first Candy glass and can I have it please.

 

Haha nah I missed out on the Candys. I think Lebowski and Gizmo 2 are my highest valued glasses. Maybe the Costanza one as well? I don't see that move very often so I don't know the price

I'm not super familiar with this guy. I didn't disagree with all of it, but his presentation comes off as blinded by nostalgia for these characters. The Creed example in particular felt odd. Rocky losing motivation as he gets older, after a lifetime of getting the shit kicked out of him, doesn't feel out of place. It feels natural. His primary take away from the movie seems to be "this character that I loved as a child showed weakness" rather than looking at one of its core themes of accepting your vulnerabilities (he glosses over that Rocky bounces back in the end).

 

I was just talking about him today with my tattoo artist. What a weird dude.

I can never get into anthology films fully because there is almost always a big gap in quality.

 

Wild Tales is probably the best anthology film

Buster Scruggs messes up by having the clearly best short first. Nothing after comes close to the hype of Scruggs stomping on the table to get that guy to shoot himself

 

Yeah Buster was fun, but quality definitely varied between shorts. I was into most of it, but I think there was one or two thta I just did not care for

Anthology movies generally aren't my thing either but I think we've gotten a couple very good ones recently, Scruggs in 2018 and The French Dispatch this year.
