There are two new movies I plan to watch this weekend. One will probably be the best film I have seen so far this year, but the other is probably a worst of the year contender.

 

I haven't kept up much on new releases since lockdown started. The only new movie I've seen since February was Da 5 Bloods. I've been using this as an opportunity to watch older films that I feel I should have watched already at this point in my life.

I have as well. That being said, all these movies sound varying levels of interesting.

Is the Affair any good?

 

Scenes from a Marriage is incredible, definitely down for a reimagining with those two.

 

It's fantastic. Seasons 1 and 5 are A+. Seasons 2 and 4 are A-, Season 3 is... wonky lol

 

I definitely can draw a straight line from the trailers I’ve seen of the affair to scenes from a marriage.

 

I haven't seen Scenes from a Marriage, but I am certain there are parallels from what i can gather

 

The first season is really great, two is ok, and then I stopped watching. The consensus seemed to be that it totally fell off the rails except for possibly the series finale? I know the storylines I heard from later seasons sounded like an entirely different show. You also may want to read this before committing to it, since Ruth was treated pretty horribly and left on bad terms.

I’d rather just watch Bergman but I guess we’ll see
