Inside Llewyn Davis gets better every time I watch it. Not only one of the best movies I've ever seen but also one of my favorites.

That was one I remember watching when I was like seventeen and just getting into movies and feeling like "yeah, that was good." And then I watched it again last year and it blew me the fuck away. M. Emmet Walsh is literally SATAN in that movie.

I get worse and worse at movie rankings by the day, but that one is easily up there. And I’m in total agreement that ranking my least favorites from them is infinitely easier than ranking favorites. I think the only unpopular Coen opinion I have is never having No Country crack my top five.

And EDIT yes yes @CarpetElf you do!!

I take this to mean you haven’t seen it and if that’s the case you need to fix that ASAP! It’s one of my personal favorites without a doubt.

  11. I'll embarrass myself and say I've only seen a handful of their movies. Maybe this is the year I go through their filmography.

    Fargo
    Lebowski
    No Country
    Burn After Reading
    True Grit
    Inside Llewyn Davis
Bridge of Spies (if it even counts)

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a ranking that included the ones they wrote but didn’t direct. And yes you should!

  14. It's probably time I shave off some TV shows and make time for more movies, so I think I will. Also, that isn't my personal ranking. Just a list of the movies I've seen. I realize I may need to clarify that ha.

I like their movies but I don’t think any of them have really stuck with me.

I enjoyed Llewyn but didn't love it anywhere near as much as most people seem to. I didn't like A Serious Man at all but I watched it a decade ago so I might like it more now. Lebowski is easily top tier Cohen imo.

A Serious Man is so good. I also didn’t care for it when I first saw it. Then rewatched it recently, and was really surprised how cohesive it is.

A Serious Man is one of my favorites but being Jewish might contribute to that, but also Stuhlbarg Melamed and Richard Kind chef's kiss

I don’t feel like ranking them but Lebowski and Llewyn are their best, and I’ve watched Hail Caesar like 6 or 7 times
