He wrote a book about movies and doesn't enjoy things from the 70s. He wrote a book about basketball and said he can't appreciate the 80s rivalries. I'm more offended that he was a teacher earlier in life.

He may not call himself a critic, but he is the best selling author, which means people are getting their knowledge from someone lacking knowledge. Siskel and Ebert used to be a cultural institution and now we have stuff like this.

 

I found the blurb for that book and it’s certainly something.

I actually loved Shea Serrano's Rap Yearbook but it's the only thing from him I've read. Was actually strongly considering getting that movie book since it seems like it's a spiritual sequel

Bohemian Rapsody is a trash movie, but ok whatever

 

Everything they say about that movie is so insufferable.

 

I loved Rocketman and Bohemian Rhapsody was insipid so I don't think it's a lack of joy haha

 

These forums are the only place I've seen negative things said about Bohemian Rhapsody tbh

Rami Malek seemed to have though that Freddie Mercury and Edward Scissorhands were the same person I don't know why

 

I think of this and how horrific it is that Bryan Singer is still getting work, and nothing else.

 

I mean, Bryan Singer was fired from the film. But yes, it's still basically a Singer film and I get what you are saying

 

Haven't seen BoRhap but I'd easily guess that most of why it sucks is Bryan's doing after seeing Rocketman

 

He still made like $40 million and got to keep the credit, so that doesn’t mean very much to me. Losing Red Sonja is the only thing that has given me hope for his career to finally suffer.

 

Yeah, other than the screenplay, Rami Malek's acting, the fake teeth, the low level of historical accuracy, and well, pretty much everything and everyone involved... yeah other than that it's Bryan's fault
