Did everyone take stupid pills today

I really wish I would wake up tomorrow and AI wouldn't exist. I mean, truthfully it's not AI's fault. It's human implementation of it and how little people care about the arts and artists. So maybe I'd like to wake up tomorrow and everyone would just be a less of an unempathetic prick? Either way, I hate the direction we are going down

 

Give me AI that helps predict preventable diseases, not AI that tries to formulate art

AI is going to do incredible things for mankind, but in a perfect world it would free people from a lot of mundane tasks and jobs so that people can be more expressive and creative, not less. A machine cannot create art, it can only look at what other pieces of art exist and create an amalgamation of it.

 

I was gonna say something along those lines but you already articulated it better than I would have

 

Ai is going to destroy us and not because of AI but because of humans. Humans are stupid, fickle and emotional and will weaponize anything they can.

It is regularly 30 minutes of ads before the movie starts at AMC. It is the closest theater but I try to go to the other two if I can.

 

how much more can they do? like Tetra said, it's already pushing half an hour

as long as it's consistently X number of minutes, I guess I don't really care. I always just show up when the movie starts.

 

When I was a kid there were no ads before the movie. You didn't have that roll of ads before the showtime, and all they showed was 3-4 trailers before the movie began. The golden age.

 

At least at my AMCs, there are no ads after the listed showtime. 20-22 minutes of trailers, silence your cell phones, Nicole Kidman, then the movie

 

Just became a member at the art house cinema. Its attached to a cocktail bar, they ring a little bell when the doors open, 10mins of trailers then another bell when the movie is about to start.
Ive been going every week, I get a Manhattan and the member free popcorn

 

same. guess i’ll make it to the theater even later now if that’s how they want it

 

There were ads before movies when I was a kid, but not video ads, not commercials. It was like power point basically haha
